Expenditures by Fund
Being the most personnel-heavy department in the City, the Colleyville Police Department carries the largest operating
budget of any single department, not counting the Utilities Fund. Approximately 30% of this budget is currently funded out
of the Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD), which was rst authorized by voters in 1999 to levy a half-cent sales tax
to support public safety. The CCPD fund was initially reserved for no-recurring expenses such as capital items, vehicles, and
equipment, but has since been transformed into an operating fund, housing 3 part-time civilian employees and19 full-time
uniformed of cers, including 6 newly funded School Resource Of cers. The remaining department budget can be found in
the General Fund.

Other than the CCPD and General Fund, the Hotel Tax Fund has paid for some crowd-management related capital items for
the Police Department in the past, although this is not expected to continue.
