Summary:

On June 23, 2020, the Arlington City Council created the
Unity Council made up of the fifteen (15) members of the
City’s Community Relations Commission and fifteen (15)
additional members appointed by the Mayor and Council
members. The Unity Council began meeting in July of 2020
and presented its recommendations to the City Council in
February 2021.

Recommendation 2.3.C asked that the City seek to
implement changes where resources to help the public
learn about home rental, buying and home ownership are
insufficient.

The Chief Equity Officer will review findings from 2.3.B.
and determine appropriate next steps. Recruiting for the
Chief Equity Officer position will begin in November 2021.
