        MISSION / PROGRAMS / SERVICES:
        To enrich the lives of Watauga citizens through the responsible administration of our resources with the
        goal of quality customer service, recreational opportunities and community interaction.  Our vision is to
        enhance the quality of life, awareness of services and the public perception as it relates to our
        residents from a recreational and community services standpoint.
            x  Health and Fitness programs for senior active adults, youth and adults
            x  Daily Meals provided for senior adults
            x  Youth and adult athletic programs
            x  Fine Art programs
            x  Summer camps
            x  Special events
            x  Facility rentals


        FY2019-2020 HIGHLIGHTS / ACHIEVEMENTS:


            x  Parks & Community Service Director, Salvador Torres awarded the “Parks Professional of the
               Year” by the north region’s Texas Recreation & Parks Society
            x  Installed and expanded new security cameras and footage access throughout the community
               center as well as the outside front perimeter of the facility
            x  Expanded partnerships with local businesses by hosting two, Comic Book Conventions with
               Watauga business: Pastime Comics
            x  Established new partnership with the North Texas Baseball Club Organization for Foster Village
               Park


        FY2020-2021 GOALS/ OBJECTIVES:

            x  Continue to provide quality programs and events on a smaller budget
            x  Find other revenue resources: more rental options, etc.
            x  Enhance the Rec Department’s online resources and registrations to patrons by utilizing the
               tools provided by new recreation software, Civic Rec
            x  New Senior Adult Van for senior adult member outings, field trips, etc.




        MAJOR BUDGETARY ISSUES AND OPERATIONAL TRENDS:

            x  Short Staffing
            x  Lack of sufficient transportation methods for Senior Adult Members
            x  Providing fitness classes at an affordable rate
            x  COVID19 mandatory program and event cancellations
