Drainage Capital Fund (46)

During FY 2003-04, the City engaged consultants to perform a drainage study. The result of the study was
a plan that assesses a monthly fee to each residential customer in the City. Commercial interests are billed
a per square foot charge based upon the square footage of their property multiplied by a runoff factor.

During FY2004-05, the City engaged another consulting firm to assist in the preparation of a Drainage
Master Plan. As a part of the analysis, floodplain maps were studied, and the existing drainage system
was studied. The results of the study determined that the value of needed drainage projects amounted to
approximately $102 million.

The FY2021 budget includes $1,795,609 for replacement of curb and gutter in conjunction with street
reconstruction and targeted areas in the City. Major projects approved for FY2021 include:
