PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival (BluesFest) is the ultimate art, food, and music experience. This three day event, held over Labor Day
weekend, features artists, BBQ sampling, craft vendors, nationally recognized blues entertainers, and fabulous food and beer. BluesFest
has grown to be the 5th largest Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned BBQ cook-off in the nation. The event is also recognized
currently as being one of the only BBQ Triple Play contests in the nation. This allows BBQ contestants to compete in three nationally
acclaimed contests in one weekend. The sanctioning bodies are the Steak Cook Off Association (SCA), the International Barbecue
Cookers Association (IBCA) and the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS).
