PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Communications & Marketing team serves as the liaison between the citizens, staff, and Bedford City government, as well as
neighboring communities. It promotes access to information on local and regional issues and continues to improve community relations
through communication. This includes: cable programming (B-TV), updating multiple websites (i.e. public, employee, departments, and
Council), creation of special publications, media relations, special events, and crisis communications. The team also develops advertising
and promotional campaigns to enhance the image of all City departments.
FY 2019-2020 HIGHLIGHTS
∗ Created a successful internal video explaining the new values for the organization.
∗ Successful continuation of the HEB Youth in Government Program with the HEB Chamber, Hurst and Euless Public Information
Officers.
∗ Created a popular and extremely well-attended social media campaign for the Library's month-long event called, the Pumpkin
Patch.
∗ Streamlined the various City Departments' process when printing materials in order to create a more unified and professional
message.
∗ Assisted in creating a Facebook LIVE campaign for the first official Fire Department Retirement Ceremony.
∗ Designed, implemented, and monitored content for all social media sites, websites, and print materials related to COVID-19.

Revitalization
∗ Promote Bedford as the ideal conference and lodging choice in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, due to it's central location.
Economic Vitality
∗ Provide awareness to the community on City of Bedford policy changes and procedures.
∗ Promote and advertise Cultural Commission events more frequently by utilizing various social media tools.
Organizational Excellence
∗ Provide marketing and promotional assistance to all City Departments and Divisions
∗ Oversee all media requests and marketing efforts in a timely fashion.
∗ Respond to various questions from the public on social media sites.
Communicate & Engage with Citizens
∗ Produce, edit and create content for the digital magazine, The Bedford Connection.
∗ Produce and maintain content for the City of Bedford website.
∗ Update public concerns regarding severe weather and environmental issues.
∗ Inform residents of water outages, street closures, testing of the emergency sirens, and weather related issues.
∗ Encourage citizen participation in City of Bedford events, utilizing social media and other communication tools.
∗ Shoot pictures and video to promote the City of Bedford for use on social media sites, websites, posters, and B-TV.
