Summary:
Victims of crime, including domestic violence, may be of Onscene Response
any gender, age, sexual orientation, race, religion or 250
ethnicity. Victimization may happen to an individual,
family, group or community. The impact of crime on an 200
individual victim, their loved ones, and their community 150
depends on a variety of factors, but often crime 100
victimization has significant emotional, psychological,
physical, financial, and social consequences. 50

most serious of cases and those with high risk indicators.
While investigators work the criminal aspect of the case, Crime Victims Served
the Victim Services Unit provides resources to victims
and family members with the goal of lessening the short 5,000
and long‐term trauma experienced as a direct result of 4,000
the victimization. Victim Services provides crisis
intervention and counseling, criminal justice support and 3,000
advocacy, information and referral, notification of rights 2,000
and transportation to shelters to all victims of violent
crime reported to the Arlington Police Department. 1,000

Victim Services Counselors are on duty 7 days a week to 1st Qtr 2nd Qtr 3rd Qtr 4th Qtr
respond to requests for immediate crisis intervention for
victims of domestic violence and other traumatic crimes.

virtually. The operation was able to sufficiently provide Domestic Violence Outreach Hours
telephonic case management due to limitations of
COVID‐19.
