Accomplishments:
The NRH Signal Art Program received an Arts & Humanities Award from the Texas
Recreation & Parks Society. This innovative program has garnered both national
attention and acclaim for its success.
A new pedestrian bridge over Walker’s Creek opened this spring. The bridge provides
walkers, runners and cyclists access from the east side of Walker’s Creek Trail to the
west side, completing a 1.5 mile looped route around the Hometown Lake. Arcadia
Realty funded the bridge and its construction.
Major renovations to one of the city’s oldest parks, Northfield Park, were completed last
Fall 2018. The updated park amenities have been well received by the community.
The library has increased programing for all ages and interests within the community. In
addition to the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club, Behind the Book Author Series and Mid-
Cities Teen Book Fest, the library added a new Financial Literacy Series. The library also
