MANSFIELD CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Mansfield Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is to enhance the local tourism
industry in Mansfield through marketing, promoting and developing opportunities for business and leisure
travel, while coordinating with local partners, businesses and entertainment venues to enhance the
visitor’s experience.
Department at a Glance
The CVB is funded by appropriations from the City of Mansfield Hotel/Motel Tax Fund. The CVB
includes one Tourism Manager and one Tourism Coordinator. Total funding for CVB in FY 2019-2020 is
$390,000, which is a 9.14% decrease over last fiscal year.
Key Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Improve facilities and services offered by the Farr Best Theatre.
Objectives:
• Create a plan for renovating the Farr Best Theatre.
• Increase number of rental events at the Theatre.
• Increase quality and quantity of city produced shows at the theatre.
Goal 2
Increase Regional Marketing Footprint.
Objectives:
• Work with area CVB organizations to effectively schedule events and activities to create a buzz
for staying in Mansfield thereby increasing hotel occupancy.
• Increase the digital presence of the CVB on other advertising and promotional pages.
• Host quarterly Q & A sessions with area businesses and begin to develop an Ambassador
program.
Goal 3
Raise the profile of cultural Tourism in Mansfield
Objectives:
• Bring a Mansfield International film festival back to the Farr Best Theatre.
• Develop a strategic plan for the Farr Best Theatre and downtown with a goal of creating a state-
level cultural district designation in Historic downtown.
• Actively pursue Requests for Proposals for Arts and conference events.
Performance Objectives
• Distribute Hotel/Motel tax funds to qualified applicants as approved by the subcommittee and
City Council during the budget process.
• Expand our advertising footprint to market Mansfield as a cultural destination.
• Create a strategic plan for the Farr Best Theatre, and create an Arts Master Plan.
