DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT
The Hurst Human Resources department will effectively serve as strategic partners within the
organization doing our best to serve our customers selflessly (The Hurst Way: Customer Service)
while managing resources responsibly (The Hurst Way: Financial Sustainability).
DIVISION DESCRIPTION
Human Resources supports city staff through partnership in strategic planning and
implementation tied to human capital issues and policy administration, direct and indirect pay
(benefits) administration, employee relations, and the employee life cycle.
PRIOR YEAR RESULTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Conducted first New Employee Orientation in collaboration with The Hurst Way
Advocacy Team.
Established quarterly Supervisor Refreshers and Supervisor Workshop Series.
Administered compensation and benefits plans as part of Total Rewards system.
Enhanced ADP Workforce Now tools.
Continued efficiency improvement processes for payroll administration.
Established efficiency improvement process for benefits administration.
Update City of Hurst Policy Manual.
FUTURE INITIATIVES
Enrich learning content for supervisors and employees on Where We Learn.
Administer employee and retiree benefits.
Rollout City of Hurst recruitment plan.
Support Fiscal Services Department in process improvement initiatives.
