Parks and Recreation Department



                     Increase attendance and usage at city parks.
                          o  Add smaller events at the parks
                          o  Work with other departments – Community night out
                          o  Adding exploration programs – geocaching
                          o  Bigger special events

                     Increase participation at city‐wide special events.
                          o  Increase promotions
                          o  Incorporate social media for higher exposure
                          o  Work with area companies and vendors to add to the menu of activities
                          o  Increase sponsorships and partnerships with area businesses
                     Increase participation at senior and community service programs.
                          o  Add coffee service
                          o  Add additional meal program
                          o  Improve opportunities to get senior check‐ins at The Link
                          o  Look for new partnerships to offer free community service programs
                     Improve information delivery to residents and non‐residents inside of 5‐mile radius.
                          o  Increase exposure north of 26 but south of 820
                          o  Work with border businesses to promote The Link and recreation programs

                                   Keep working on small opportunities to market at BISD schools
                                   Inter‐local agreement with middle school
                     Improve the professionalism of recreation staff.
                          o  Enroll staff in TRAPS local and state conferences
                          o  JB CPRP designation
                          o  Improve customer service training for part‐time employees

                     Increase the membership revenue.
                          o  Family memberships
                          o  Adult memberships

                     Increase membership usage.
                          o  More scans per month
                          o  More members scanning per month
