HOTEL/MOTEL TAX FUND
The Hotel/Motel Tax Fund collects the 7% hotel occupancy tax that is remitted quarterly
from hotels within the city limits. Projects from this fund are restricted to projects relating
to the promotion of tourism, arts and community development. The City currently has
six hotels in operation; Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hyatt
Place, America’s Best Value Inn, and Lone Star Inn. The largest hotel, Hilton Garden Inn
is attached to the Hurst Conference Center and opened in 2018 adding an additional
144 rooms to our hotel inventory. The Hilton Garden Inn was the result of an economic
development agreement that will increase activity at the Hurst Conference Center.
The owner of Hilton Garden Inn retained the same architect that designed the Hurst
Conference Center to create a seamless design to integrate the hotel into the design of
the Conference Center. Construction planning is still in process for a Candlewood Suites
in Hurst Town Center.
