DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT
The Hurst Human Resources department will effectively serve
as strategic partners within the organization doing our best to
serve our customers selflessly (The Hurst Way: Customer Service)
while managing resources responsibly (The Hurst Way: Financial
Sustainability).
DIVISION DESCRIPTION
Human Resources supports city staff through partnership in strategic planning and
implementation tied to human capital issues and policy administration, direct and
indirect pay (benefits) administration, employee relations, and the employee life cycle.
PRIOR YEAR RESULTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Completed HR Productivity Improvement Process.
• Established organizational development initiatives through Where We Learn,
including supervisor training and harassment prevention compliance training.
• Facilitated Police and Fire departmental recruitment and testing.
• Administered compensation and benefits plans as part of Total Rewards
system.
• Transitioned City of Hurst 457(b) retirement plan record-keepers.
• Continued efficiency improvement processes for payroll administration.
• Established new supervisor orientation.
FUTURE INITIATIVES
• Offer content in Where We Learn for Employee Growth, Supervisor
Development and Technical Competencies.
• Develop and implement New Employee Orientation.
• Partner with Police Department to rollout Police recruitment plan.
• Support Fiscal Services Department in process improvement initiatives.
