Fund Balance
As an internal service fund, the fund balance numbers provided are based on the retained earnings of each
fiscal year. This fund is used for maintenance and capital replacement; therefore, expenditures vary annually
depending on capital needs. This can result in fluctuations of the fund balance.
A portion of the fund balance has been committed to Library technology. Utilization of this committed balance
requires City Council approval.
