Utility Rates

The City of Bedford contracts with NewGen Strategies & Solutions for a water and sewer rate study each year.
The rates are updated to meet financial objectives, including overall revenue sufficiency, maintaining target
fund balance and debt service coverage.

The pass-through increases from the Trinity River Authority (TRA) for wholesale costs of water and sewer
treatment fare the key driver for needed volumetric rate adjustments.
