Planning & Development At a Glance

Planning & Development includes the City’s Planning Division, along with the operations of several
boards and commissions, including the Planning & Zoning Commission, Historic Landmark Commission,
and the Board of Adjustments. It also includes Building Services: Building Safety Division and Facilities
Management. The Planning Department administers land use and subdivision regulations
designed to encourage the development of safe, accessible and attractive properties and
the enhancement of property values in Mansfield. The department also provides technical
assistance on zoning and development matters that go before the Planning & Zoning
Commission and the City Council.
