City Council
The City Council ser ves as the governing body of elected representatives for the City of Colleyville. Empowered by the
home rule char ter, the Council functions as the principal policymakers and decision-makers for the community. The
Council is composed of a Mayor and six Council Members, all elected at large by the citizens of Colleyville. Council
Members ser ve staggered three -year terms, ensuring continuity of governance while allowing for new perspectives over
time.
The City of Colleyville enforces speci{c term limits for its elected of{cials. No individual may ser ve as Mayor for more than
two consecutive elected terms, and no person may ser ve as a Council Member for more than two consecutive elected
terms. Additionally, no individual may ser ve more than twelve consecutive years in any combination of Council Member
and Mayor roles.
The Council's responsibilities include setting strategic goals, adopting ordinances and resolutions, and appointing citizens
to various community boards and commissions. Through its leadership, the City Council is committed to maintaining
Colleyville as a model city that balances growth with the preser vation of its unique history and resources.
The Council strives to ensure that Colleyville remains an ef{cient , attractive, and neighborhood- oriented community,
continuously responding to the needs and aspirations of its residents.

In FY2026 , the City Council's budgeted expenses remained steady at $217,430, showing no change from the previous year's
original budgeted amount . The FY2025 budget was amended to account for the purchase and installation of a tree
sculpture in City Hall that was not covered by other funds in the amount of $12 , 890.
