The Bedford Public Library continues to be a vibrant hub of learning, engagement, and community connection. BPL
welcomes individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, promoting personal growth, cultural enrichment, and lifelong
learning for the entire community. Throughout the year, more than 186,000 visitors walked through its doors, taking
advantage of its services, programs, and welcoming atmosphere. With a collection of over 113,000 items and an annual
circulation exceeding 450,000, the library ensures that books, digital resources, and other materials are readily available to
the community. From carpet cleaners to seeds, Bedford citizens checkout almost 9,000 items from the Library of Things
Collection. Programming remains a key focus, with 902 events offered, drawing a combined audience of over 38,000
attendees. These programs, ranging from educational workshops to family-friendly activities, foster a love for reading,
creativity, and lifelong learning. To bridge the digital divide, the library offers essential services such as computer access, free
Wi-Fi, printing, scanning, and faxing. The library also thrives thanks to the dedication of its volunteers, who contributed an
impressive 5,180 hours of service, further enriching the experience for patrons. With nearly 12,000 non-resident library cards
issued, BPL serves as a regional destination for families across the DFW area, further strengthening Bedford’s role in
economic development. Through its diverse resources and strong community partnerships, BPL continues to be a
cornerstone of knowledge, connection, and opportunity.
