Closing Funds

The following funds are being closed at the end of

Fund Fund Type
Texas House Bill (H.B.) No. 1950 requires that municipalities with a population of less than 100,000
Special
Court Security Fund create a consolidated Municipal Court building security and technology fund effective May 29,
Revenue
2025. This new consolidated fund is listed in the table above.

The remaining balance in the Court Security Fund was used for a one-time project during FY
Special
Court Technology Fund 2024-2025. We are proposing a budget in the Court Technology Fund to use the remaining fund
Revenue
balance in FY 2025-2026.
Parks Maintenance Fund Governmental
These funds were closed and converted into committed fund balances in the General Fund.
Aquatics Maintenance Fund Governmental
Facility Maintenance & Repair These funds were closed and combined into a new Internal Service fund that was created for the

Fund same purpose. The Library Maintenance Fund was converted into a committed fund balance in
Library Maintenance Fund Governmental the new Facilities Maintenance internal service fund.
Equipment Replacement Fund Governmental These funds were closed and combined into a new Internal Service fund that was created for the
Water/Sewer Vehicle same purpose. The Water/Sewer Vehicle Replacement Fund was converted into a committed
Enterprise
Replacement Fund fund balance in the new Equipment Replacement internal service fund.
Computer Replacement Fund Governmental These funds were closed and combined into a new Internal Service fund that was created for the
same purpose. The Library Technology Fund was converted into a committed fund balance in the
Library Technology Fund Governmental new Computer Replacement Fund.
