Summary:
Adaptive/Inclusive Programs
The Parks and Recreation Department aims to 25
enhance accessibility and inclusivity by expanding
adaptive programs, facilities, and amenities for the 20
City’s diverse population. By assessing current 15
offerings and addressing service gaps, the

bingo with stretching and low-impact exercises; Programs
accessible for various mobility and language needs. Adaptaive/Inclusive Participants

walking program with mobility assistance, led by 400
physical therapy students.

Arlington Golf hosted two clinics. One at Tierra Verde on May
18 Pluss (6–8 participants weekly, 200 total/semester th
at EAST & Beacon): Vocational training for special 17 with 10 students, and the second at TRGC in June where 14
needs students, focusing on job and customer students learned the basics of golf from Arlington Parks and
Recreation Golf Professionals. The clinic was the largest since
service skills.
Arlington began hosting in fall 2023.

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the AQUATICS: Sensory Swim – June 21 at Howard Moore Pool (15
attendees)
flagship military program of PGA REACH, the
charitable foundation of the PGA of America. PGA
HOPE introduces golf to Veterans and Active Duty Sensory swim, also known as sensory-friendly swim, is a
Military to enhance their physical, mental, social and specialized type of swimming program designed for individuals
emotional well-being. with sensory sensitivities, autism spectrum disorder, or other
developmental or physical differences. It provides a more
calming and supportive environment to learn water safety and
develop swimming skills.
