pertaining to any program requirement or a contract or subcontract or to any
solicitation or proposal therefore pending before this government.

• Kickbacks – It shall be a breach of ethics for any payment, gratuity or offer of
employment to be made by or on behalf of a subcontractor under contract to the
prime contractor or higher tier subcontractor for any contract for the City of
Haslet, or any person associated therewith, as an inducement for the award of a
subcontract or order.

• Confidential Information - It shall be a breach of ethics for any employee or
former employee of the City of Haslet knowingly to use confidential for actual or
anticipated personal gain, or for the actual or anticipated gain of any person.

Violations and Remedies

Violations of the provisions of this Article constitute misconduct, subjecting the violator
to any and all penalties prescribed by the state law and the City’s Personnel Manual.

Penalties, sanctions or other disciplinary actions, to the extent permitted by state or
local law, rules or regulations, shall be imposed for violations of the code of
conduct/conflict of interest standards, by City Officers, employees or agents or by
persons, contractors or their agents, when the procurement involves state or federal
programs and/or funds.

Appropriate sanctions, penalties or disciplinary actions shall be applied for violations.
Violations of state or federal law shall be referred to the proper authority having
jurisdiction over same.
