ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The Economic Development Department seeks to promote, support, enhance, and diversify the
local economy through business recruitment, retention, redevelopment and information-sharing
regarding market conditions, development in Saginaw and around the DFW Metroplex. Success
in this endeavor results in added value to the local tax base through sales, ad valorem, and
occupancy tax revenues, increased workforce capacity, the diversification of industry offerings,
community development initiatives and programming, and transmarket promotion of the unique
values, mission, and characteristics of the City of Saginaw, Texas.
The Director of Community and Economic Development is responsible for local business
analytic reports and information-sharing, attending meetings of various boards, City Council,
and the Development Review Committee (DRC). Staff strives to encourage growth consistent
with the City's economic development goals and will serve as the main link between the City of
Saginaw and prospective developers, brokers, business owners, and commercial property
owners.
