CITY OF HALTOM CITY ANNUAL BUDGET, FY2023                 Special Revenue Funds




          CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTIVE DISTRICT FUND


          The Haltom City Crime Control and Prevention District is funded by a ¼ cent sales tax.  The
          revenue provides the necessary resources to effectively implement crime reduction strategies
          pertaining  to enhanced enforcement, neighborhood  crime prevention,  partner  programs,
          recruitment and training,  and department equipment,  technology,  and any crime prevention
          activities.



                      Mission Statement


          The mission of City Manager’s Office is to effectively execute City Council policies, programs,
          and directives; and to conduct City operations in an efficient, responsible and highly accountable
          manner.


               Accomplishments of FY2022

              ◊  Continued DWI Enforcement Unit, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, Bicycle Unit, and
                  K-9 unit.
              ◊  Added two additional SRO’s which expanded coverage to include both middle schools and
                  two at the high school.
              ◊  Continued with community outreach/victim assistance program utilizing the Shared Services
                  Crime Victim Liaison.
              ◊  Managed the Shared Services Agreement for Dispatch, Detention Services, and the CAD/
                  RMS systems.






                   Objectives for FY2023


              ◊  Increase efficiency by employing technological improvements throughout the department.
              ◊  Continue to partner with the community to make Haltom City a better place to live, work,
                  and visit.
              ◊  Partner with Birdville Independent School District to further improve our response to any
                  threats to the school district’s staff, students, or structures.
              ◊  To continue the process of becoming recognized by the Texas Police Chiefs Association as
                  a department that meets the requirements outlined in their model of best practices.
