                 Major Capital Initiatives identi ed
Heroes Park renovations: a signi cant portion of Colleyville's capital improvement plan is focused on park
improvements and leisure options for residents. In conjunction with this, the City has also placed signi cant
emphasis on delivering quality community events, such as Stars and Guitars (Colleyville's 4th of July event),
the Harvest Festival, the Holiday Tree Lighting, ne arts events and concerts in the Plaza, Fall and Spring car
shows, and movies in the Village, among others. Each of these events are different in scope, attendance, and
resource requirements. Therefore, the City would like to develop an area adjacent to City Hall in order to utilize
for small-to-mid sized events. The current area is a small park called Heroes Park, and the plan is to expand
upon the existing land. This initiative is in conjunction with strategies 3.4, 5.1. 5.2, and 5.3.
The Colleyville Community Center: in late FY22, the City came pong the opportunity to purchase 15 acres of
land containing a 42,000 square foot building currently utilized by a church. The church had decided to vacate
and sell the property, inquiring if the City would be interested. City Council subsequently determined the
property would be perfect for a modest recreation center, which has been a community-expressed desire for
years. The purchase will be made with bonds sold in December of 2023, and renovations will commence
shortly thereafter. This initiative is in conjunction with strategies 3.4, 5.1. 5.2, and 5.3.

                                Strategic Goals Mapped to Departments

This document contains summaries for each operating department across the City. These summaries identify the
departments' core services, which are in turn linked to the strategic goals outlined below. Most departments are key
players in more than one strategic goal, and this can occasionally shift from year to year. The following table summarizes
how these goals are mapped to Colleyville's operating departments:
