City Statistics


        Saginaw sits solidly in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.   Saginaw remains an agribusiness center for much of
        Texas with some of the largest grain storage facilities in the United States.  Saginaw is conveniently located nine miles north
        of downtown Fort Worth and 37 miles west of Dallas.  It is just a few minutes away from both Eagle Mountain Lake and Lake
        Worth.

        Alliance  Airport  and  Texas Motor  Speedway are  located  within  15  miles  of  Saginaw.   The  Federal  Bureau  of  Printing  &
        Engraving facility is located six-tenths of a mile from Saginaw.

        The Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Airport is 20 miles east of Saginaw and Meacham Airport is only three miles away.

        The City of Saginaw is in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District.  EMS-ISD enrollment continues to grow
        annually with an enrollment of 19,134 as of March 2016.

        The population increased from 1,001 in the 1960 census to 5,736 in the 1980 census.  The population continued to increase to
        12,374 in the 2000 census; and 19,806 in the 2010 census.   The current estimated population is 23,890.   More information

        Your Mayor & City Council


        The Saginaw City Council consists of a Mayor and six Council members. The City Council meets at 6:00 p.m. on the first and
        third Tuesdays of each month.  The meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 333 West McLeroy Boulevard.
        The meetings are open to the public.  To address the Council at a meeting, contact the City Secretary at (817) 230-0327.  For
        an item to appear on the agenda, the agenda request form must be turned in by noon on the Wednesday before the next council
        meeting.

        City Hall


        City Hall houses the administrative offices of the Mayor and City Council, City Manager, City Secretary, Finance Department,
        Water Department, Miscellaneous Permit Department,  Municipal Court, and Personnel. Contact these departments at (817)
        232-4640.  It is also the location of the City Council Chambers.

        The City Hall has a well-versed staff who can answer questions regarding the City.   The City Hall is open Monday through
        Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and  Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  The following holidays are observed:  New Year's Day,
        Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

        Open record requests should be directed to the City Secretary at City Hall.   Municipal Court open records requests should
        be directed to the Court Clerk at City Hall.   The building permit, inspection, animal services, and code enforcement offices
        are located at the Public Works Facility at 205 Brenda Lane.

        Elections


        City Election are held the second Saturday in May.  Voter registration cards are available at City Hall.  You must be registered
        30 days prior to the election.
