WATER FUND
Water is funded through the sale of water, sewer fees, and sanitation fees. The
city purchases water and sewer services from the City of Fort Worth, and charges
rates to recover the full cost of both the fixed and variable costs associated with
maintaining those infrastructures. The city purchases sanitation (trash/recycling)
services through a third-party contractor. Expenses include a debt service
payment, three full-time employees, and all other costs associated with operating
and maintaining city utilities. Payroll includes a 3% cost of living adjustment, 12%
TMRS rate, and $700/month city paid insurance benefit.
