FIRE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
Department at a Glance
The Emergency Management Department includes one Emergency Management Coordinator.
The department budget decreased 3.07% due to a reduction in budgeted supplies and operational costs.
Key Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Integrate UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) technology into fire operations on shift.
Objectives:
• Development of a UAS integration plan into Fire Operations.
• Hold a class to train all engineers to be UAS pilots.
• Certify new pilots with a written test and flight skills test.
Goal 2
Integrate ESO and Rhodium software with Prevention data to enhance Emergency Operations Center
(EOC) and Fire Department operations.
Objectives:
• Develop a file transfer system to migrate data from ESO to Rhodium.
• Determine what data is to be transferred to Rhodium from ESO and how often.
• Enter hazmat, inspection, and occupancy data into ESO.
Goal 3
Disaster Plan five-year update and submission to State.
Objectives:
• Meet with state planner or attend a class to learn the new system for disaster plan development
and submission that the state is transitioning to this year.
• Start updating disaster annexes in October 2020.
• Attempt to update and get state approval for two annexes per month.
Performance Measures
• Incorporate UAS technology in daily operations.
• Enhance EOC and Fire Department operations with Rhodium software.
• Disaster Plan updates.
