o  Four mental health peace officers on staff
                          o  In-house instructor for DWI and narcotics enforcement from a patrol level
                          o  Working to raise certification levels through ongoing training with priority on
                              employees who have the time in grade but lack classes
                          o  Established a rank structure that maintains 24/7 trained supervisors to be on shift
                              as well as preparing for future growth
                     Successfully funded out of budget to reconfigure office space and increase the size of the
                       male locker room to accommodate growth
                          o  Replaced lockers in both male and female locker rooms
                          o  Created a dedicated room where officers can write reports without distractions


                S H O R T - T E R M   G O A L S
                     Continue efforts to identify and hire an officer candidate for the new position authorized
                       for this year’s budget
                     Continue sending command and supervisory staff to the Developing Leaders for Texas
                       Law Enforcement leadership training
                     Continue to identify and apply for grants for equipment and positions that enhance the
                       department's ability to deliver varied and high quality services
                     Obtain five-day supervision training for all field training officers
                     Conduct a second a Junior Police Academy for spring/summer 2021 attendance, COVID-
                       19 regulations permitting
                     Continue succession planning for key personnel due to resignations and retirements
                     Work to maintain Recognized status through the TPCA Foundation
                     Prepare a five-year plan for department growth and needs assessment

               LONG-TERM GOALS
                     Continue to develop a strategic plan for future personnel and equipment growth needs
                     Continue encouraging all sergeants to complete Command College
                     Seek out grants for building renovations and improvements
                     Improve or replace the current police facility with a more efficient building and floor plan
