MUNICIPAL COURT BUILDING SECURITY FUND
The Building Security Fund was established by the Texas Legislature through an amendment to the
Texas Code of Criminal Procedures to allow the assessment of a $4.90 fee to be added to every
conviction through Municipal Court to help purchase items for or relating to the security of the Municipal
Court. The $4.90 fee is deposited into its own fund and, by law, provides funding for the security of
Court operations.
