FIRE GRANT FUND

The Fire Grant Fund revenue is derived from the City’s participation in the State Emergency
Management Reimbursement Program. Each year a percentage of the salaries of persons working in
the area of Emergency Management are reimbursed to the City. These funds have created the Fire
Grant Fund. This fund is used for special projects such as the free smoke detector and battery
replacement program for citizens, as well as the latest in technology to help protect and serve the
citizens of Hurst. This is a separate source of funding for the Fire Department outside the general
            operating budget of the City.
