Department: Public Works Division: Administration
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Stormwater Administration Division is responsible for providing adequate collection and transportation of stormwater with the least
amount of damage to real or personal property. This is accomplished by maintaining the drainage channels and the stormwater
collection system through debris removal and erosion control throughout the City. The Division is also pro-active in the treatment of
standing water to combat mosquitoes and rodent control in the drainage channels and at City facilities. Division staff members oversee
the multiple outreach programs offered to residents and visitors of the City.
FY 2019-2020 HIGHLIGHTS
∗ Constructed a headwall on the storm drain that crosses Cedar Ridge Drive.
∗ Reconstructed the failed storm sewer tie-in at 1905 Central Drive.
∗ The contractor completed the Brook Hollow Park Drainage Channel Improvement, repairing the channel walls that collapsed in
2018 after heavy rains.
∗ Constructed a flume on Ashbury Lane that drains into the drainage channel along Cheek Sparger Road.
∗ Inspected 640,000 linear feet for mosquito breeding grounds.
∗ Repaired storm drain at 2700 Cheek Sparger Road.
∗ Community outreach events canceled due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
