                                                    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

     The Records Division is responsible for the accurate collection, storage, retention, destruction, and dissemination of all data, reports, and
     property coming to the attention of, or generated by, Department personnel.  The Division ensures timely compliance with all open
     records requests and also encompasses the diverse duties/responsibilities of Alarm Permitting, and Property/Evidence.

     The Property Technician is responsible for receiving, releasing, and safekeeping of all property and evidence.  The Property Technician
     must maintain the chain of custody for all evidentiary items.







                                                   FY 2019-2020 HIGHLIGHTS

        ∗ Submitted CY2019 statistical data to the State prior to the deadline, and in accordance with the Incident Based Reporting (IBR)
         guidelines.
        ∗ Maintained a 96% rate of completing public information requests within 5 days.
        ∗ Implementation of new public safety software allowed for additional quality assurance checks to cases from the initial report to the
         final closing of the case.

         ∗ Process the majority of open record requests within five business days.
         ∗ Take proactive steps in locating rightful property owners and process the release of property as quickly as possible.
         ∗ Continue quarterly disposals of property and annual inventory of items.
         ∗ Ensure compliance with the State Record Retention Schedule by identifying and archiving Felony 1 cases meeting certain criteria.
