CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM OVERVIEW

 In 2019/2020, the City will be replacing a 24-inch wastewater main running from the Fort Worth
meter station to just south of Holland Dr. During this fiscal year, three major sewer line collapses
were experienced in this line. Staff were able to determine that the line has significant detrition
due to hydrogen sulfide gas. This replacement will install a PVC pipe in place of the current
reinforced concrete pipe. Staff anticipate a 100-year life on the PVC pipe and an anticipate
savings from future expenses that would likely have been incurred from future failures in the line.

        Major Capital Equipment

 Several significant pieces of equipment are included in the Adopted budget this year for
replacement, including an Ambulance, (2) Wheel Loaders, (2) Backhoes, a Roller, and a Utility
Tractor. The majority of these units have exceeded their useful life and have begun to increase in
maintenance cost and repair time to upkeep. Replacement of these units will help improve
operational efficiency and reduce annual maintenance costs associated with these vehicles.
