May 1, 2019, Wednesday First Review - City Manager or his designee begins reviewing
budget requests with Department Heads. Meetings will continue
throughout the month of May.
May 7, 2019, Tuesday Third Budget Sub-committee Meeting at 3:30pm.
May 28, 2019, Tuesday Second Review of budget requests with Departments to discuss
necessary revisions. Meetings will continue into the month of
June.
May 30, 2019, Thursday Meeting for Hotel/Motel funding applicants to discuss
requirements and application process.
May 31, 2019, Friday Business Services calculates preliminary tax and other revenues
and presents to the City Manager for the FY 19/20 proposed
budget.
June 21, 2019, Friday Budget and Accounting Offices prepare departmental line item
budget revisions and submit to City Manager or his designee
incorporating FY 19/20 budget projections and revised figures
for FY 18/19.
July 22, 2019, Monday Special meeting with City Council to review budget process and
current state of the City.
July 25, 2019, Thursday Last day for Chief Appraiser to certify appraisal roll.
July 31, 2019, Wednesday Applications for Hotel/Motel funding requests are due. (Date
may be moved up.)
August 2, 2019, Friday “Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Budget” published at
least ten days before the public hearing scheduled on August 12,
2019. STATUTORY REQUIREMENT
August 5, 2019, Monday “Notice of 2019 Tax Year Proposed Property Tax Rate” (quarter
page notice) published at least seven days before the public
hearing scheduled on August 12, 2019 on the Tax Rate, FY
19/20 Budget and use of Hotel/Motel Tax Revenue.
STATUTORY REQUIREMENT
August 5, 2019, Monday Budget work session with City Council.
August 7, 2019, Wednesday Date taxing units must publicize effective tax and roll back rates
and other applicable items (or as soon as practical thereafter).
August 9, 2019, Friday Post agenda for Monday, August 12, 2019 Open Meeting.
