DESCRIPTION / MISSION
The Municipal Court is a court of record that has jurisdiction within the City of North Richland Hills’ territorial limits over all Class C
misdemeanor cases brought under City ordinances and the Texas State Statutes. The cases filed in this Court are punishable by
fine only. The Administration Division is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the court; this includes supervising the
divisional operations of the Municipal Court which include the Court Records Division, Warrant/Court Security Division, the Teen
Court/Community Outreach Division and the Diversion Program. The Administration Division also deals with issues relating to
judicial administration.
GOALS
• To ensure all Court personnel are courteous and responsive to the public and demonstrate respect to all with whom they come in

• To maintain facilities that are safe, accessible and convenient for the public to access and use. (Safety & Security)
• To maintain compliance with recognized guidelines for timely case processing, while at the same time, keeping current with
incoming caseload. (Preserve Positive City Image)
• To ensure accountability and safeguards for public funds. (Financial Responsibility)
OBJECTIVES
• Provide an opportunity for all who appear before the Court to participate effectively, without undue hardship or inconvenience.
• Provide precise monthly reporting on Court funds as required by State law.
• Promptly implement changes in law and procedures.
