                       MISSION STATEMENT


                       To provide safe drinking water in sufficient volumes and under
                       adequate pressure to the water customers of Hurst and maintain the

                       integrity of the water distribution system.


                       DIVISION DESCRIPTION


                       The Water Division is responsible for the maintenance and operation of water production
                       and distribution.  These include approximately 204 miles of water lines, 1,321 fire
                       hydrants, 4,413 water system valves, 12,816 water meters, ten ground storage tanks
                       with a capacity of 9.3 million gallons, three elevated storage tanks with a capacity of
                       2.75 million gallons, two water supply connections with the City of Fort Worth, six City
                       owned water wells and three emergency water supply connections.


                       PRIOR YEAR RESULTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS


                         •   Completed the replacement of Well 9T @ Station #5 due to lightning strike.
                         •   Cleaning and inspection of two (2) elevated storage tanks.
                         •   Submitted the 2017 Texas Water Development Board Water (TWDB) Loss Audit.
                         •   Submitted the 2017 TWDB Water Use Survey.
                         •   Submitted the 2017 TWDB Conservation Report.
                         •   Submitted the 2017 TWDB Utility Profile and the 2017 Texas Commission of
                          Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Utility Profile.
                         •   Submitted the 2017 Water Quality Report to the TCEQ.
                         •   Held the 2017 Water Quality Report Public Meeting for July 19, 2018.
                         •   Completed the annual Lead & Copper samples and successfully submitted to
                          TCEQ.
                         •   Successfully reduced Lead & Copper Sample requirements from annually to
                          every third year with approval from TCEQ.
                         •   Began the Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule Stage 4 Sampling
                          (UCMR4) as required by the EPA and TCEQ. Projected completion is late 2018.
                         •   Continued use of the City Works Asset Management System.
                         •   Submitted over 600 required water quality samples representing the City of
                          Hurst Water System as a whole to TCEQ.
                         •   Completed the 3rd Year Water System Investigation through the TCEQ without
                          deficiency.
