                       MISSION STATEMENT


                       The goal of the Support Services Division is to inform and engage the
                       public; and to provide building maintenance services and warehouse

                       functions in an efficient and customer service friendly manner.


                       DIVISION DESCRIPTION


                       The primary function of the Support Services Division is to inform and engage the
                       public through city publications, programs, social media, and the city website and
                       mobile app. Working with the City Council, City Manager, and other Departments, the
                       Division handles marketing and communications for the City including the Where We
                       Live  magazine  and  mobile  app,  newsletters,  brochures,  website information,  water
                       bill inserts, and annual reports. The Division is also responsible for developing and
                       maintaining media relations and community engagement programs such as the Hurst
                       101 Academy, the Youth in Government Program, and the Hurst Hearts Campaign.
                       Additional areas of citywide divisional support include mail processing and postage,
                       building maintenance, and warehouse functions.


                       PRIOR YEAR RESULTS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS


                         •  Moved Retail, Restaurant and Business Guide to strictly online, saving money
                          that has now been invested in expanding the Where We Live magazine
                         •   Won state awards for the magazine, website and Hurst Hearts video
                         •   Won national awards for our website and Where We Live mobile app
                         •   Mailed out more than 100,000 city publications including the Where We Live
                          magazine and annual report
                         •   Created Work Life magazine for internal communication
                         •   Restructured the Youth In Government program resulting in maximum
                          number of participation
                         •   Assisted aquatics in creating water safety campaign cards for kids featuring
                          Finn, the safety sea turtle
                         •   Reached over 16,000 subscribers with news and events from Hurst through our
                          GovDelivery email notification system
