OVERVIEW OF WATER
AND WASTEWATER SYSTEMS
The Hurst Water Utilities System has maintained its relative size over the past five years.
The number of active water accounts is 12,342 as of September 30, 2018.
The City of Hurst’s water well and water purchased from the City of Fort Worth combined
to supply Hurst residents with a total of 1.89 billion gallons of treated water during Fiscal
Year 2018. This translates to an increase of 3.60% or 66 million gallons from the prior
year. This increase is the result of the relaxed Stage 1 Drought Contingency Protocol. Of
the 1.89 billion gallons used in 2018, the City of Fort Worth supplied 1.867 billion gallons
and the City of Hurst supplied 32.68 million gallons.
The City of Hurst average daily water use is up from 5.03 MGD in Fiscal Year 2017 to 5.19
MGD in 2018. The City of Fort Worth water supply maximum day demand increased
from 8.047 MGD in 2017, to 8.507 MGD in 2018. The FTW water supply maximum hour
demand decreased from 9.38 MGD in 2017 to 9.21 MGD in 2018.
