CURRENT FINANCIAL POSITION
The City Staff estimates that the City of Benbrook begins the 2018-19 fiscal year with an estimated combined fund
balance of $8,957,555 in the operating funds (General Fund and Debt Service Fund) and is projected to end the year
with a balance of $8,404,938.
The General Fund is estimated to begin the 2018-19 fiscal year with a fund balance of $8,791,267 and to end the year
with a fund balance of $8,020,853. The transfer of $750,000 from General Fund reserves is included in the year-ending
balance. The transfer of $500,000 is scheduled from the General Fund to the Capital Asset Replacement Fund for
current and for future capital outlay costs. A transfer of $250,000 from General Fund reserves is included to the Capital
Facilities Fund to finance current and future special facilities improvement projects. The Budget also includes the use
of $920,000 in General Fund reserves to procure an updated and upgraded communications system for the Fire
Department. The transfer of $100,000 from the Road Damage Fund to the General Fund is included to repair streets
and roadways damaged by vehicles utilized by area natural gas companies.
The Debt Service Fund is estimated to begin the 2018-19 fiscal year with a fund balance of $166,288 and to end the
year with a fund balance of $384,085; an estimated $217,797 will be added to the Debt Service Fund reserves in 2018-
19. The transfer of $504,744 is scheduled from the Stormwater Utility Fund for drainage-related debt costs.
