Fund Balance

This fund was created per Texas House Bill (H.B.) No. 1950, which became effective May 29, 2025. This is a
special revenue fund that has a restricted use per State guidelines. Expenses in this fund are set each year
based on the anticipated collections. If the fund collects more than anticipated, the extra amount remains in
fund balance to offset years when collections are lower than expected.
