Strategic Alignment

Although financial goals and objectives are present throughout the budget, critical to all citizens of Mansfield are the non-
financial goals and strategies to enhance the quality of life for our residents. Further, it is important to understand how
short-term and long-term goals relate to the overall strategic priorities set by City Council to meet the expectations of the
citizens of Mansfield. Having a strategic vision is one of the core values driving Mansfield forward as we work to fulfill the
needs of a growing community. The Strategic Priorities developed by City Council are meant to serve as a roadmap for City
staff when determining future budget needs, allocation of resources, and prioritization of projects. This fosters
transparency and accountability and allows more effective use of taxpayer dollars, as resources are directed towards
projects that are most critical to the well-being of the community.

Individual department/division goals and objectives can be found in each major fund section of the budget document.
The following pages illustrate the major goals under each of the City's strategic priorities, and how they are tied to the
guiding principles of True NORTH.
