SUMMARY OF MAJOR REVENUES
AD VALOREM TAXES
Ad Valorem Taxes, or property taxes, are levied in October on the assessed value of all real and personal property located within the City. Assessed
values represent the appraised value less applicable exemptions authorized by the City Council. Appraised values are established by the Tarrant
Appraisal District (TAD) at 100% of estimated market value. Tax bills are sent in October and due no later than January 31 of the following year.
Beginning February 1, unpaid bills are subject to penalties and interest. Penalties begin at 6 percent and increase monthly to a maximum of 12 percent
in July. Interest begins to accrue at the rate of 1 percent per month until the account is paid in full.
The City of Grapevine offers a 20% homestead exemption which is the maximum authorized by the State. Additionally, the city offers a $75,000 over-65
exemption, over-65 tax freeze, and a $10,000 disabled-person exemption.
