Proprietary Fund Types
Enterprise Funds - Enterprise funds are used to account for operations that are either financed and operated in a manner similar to private business
enterprises, or where the governing body has decided that periodic determination of revenues earned, expenses incurred, and/or net income is
appropriate for capital maintenance, public policy, management control, accountability or other purposes. The City has established two enterprise
funds:
The Utility Enterprise Fund accounts for water, wastewater, and solid waste collection services for residents of the City. All activities necessary to
provide such services are accounted for within the fund, including administration, operations, maintenance, financing, and related debt service, and
billing and collection.
The Lake Enterprise Fund accounts for all activities necessary to operate and maintain the City-owned golf course which also operates Persimmons
Bar & Grill.
