Description
The SCAG Turf Storm XL is a stand-on spreader/sprayer designed for ef cient and large-scale lawn care applications. It features a 220-
pound granular hopper capacity and a 60-gallon liquid spraying capacity. With this unit, we will have greater control over chemical
applications, allowing us to manage treatments more effectively on our athletic elds and throughout our park system, particularly at
Generations Park at Boys Ranch.
This unit must be coordinated with the purchase of the turf and weed management chemicals. This includes a mix of weed control (both
pre- and post-emergency) and fertilizer products to treat 20 acres of athletic elds and event elds, helping to maintain healthy turf and
a great playing surface. Funding for the turf and weed management chemicals will be funded by an offsetting reduction to our current
contract for chemical applications, for a net-zero impact to the operating budget.
Handling these areas in-house will give us greater control over the timing and quality of applications. It will allow us to better target
problem areas as they arise.
Please note that due to potential price increases since the original quote was provided, an additional $1,500 will be added to the quoted
price.

Consequences of Not Funding
By not funding the SCAG Turf Storm XL and associated turf and weed management chemicals, the turf on our athletic elds
and parks will suffer. We will not be able to provide the necessary nutrients or maintain the weed control needed for healthy,
thriving turf. Not treating the elds means more weeds, weaker turf, higher maintenance costs, and a lower-quality playing
surface.
