This fund was established May 29, 2025 in accordance with Texas House Bill
(H.B.) No. 1950.
This special revenue fund is funded through a $4.90 fee for municipal court
building security and $4.00 fee for municipal court technology assessed with
each citation collected from the defendant upon conviction for a misdemeanor
offense in the Municipal Court as a cost of court. The Municipal Court Building
Security and Technology Fund is designed to provide protection to the Municipal
Court Judge, Municipal Court Prosecutor, Court personnel, complainants, and
Municipal
defendants and to provide funding for the purchase of technological
Court Building
enhancements for the Municipal Court, including computer systems, computer
Security and
networks, computer hardware and software, imaging systems, replacement
Technology computers, printers, and other equipment currently in use in the Municipal Court
or docket management systems.
Fund
The Municipal Court Building Security and Technology Fund is utilized to cover a
portion of the cost of one Warrant Of cer/Bailiff who is assigned to the Municipal
Court to monitor the security of the Bedford Municipal Court by utilizing the pass-
through metal detector during court sessions. The fund is also utilized to pay for
the maintenance, technical support, and online payment access for the Municipal
Court Record System software, and the maintenance, technical support, supplies,
and repairs for ticket writers.
