April 30 1st Estimate of 2024 taxable values received from Tarrant Appraisal District (TAD).
May 1 Distribute budget instructions and worksheets to Department Heads.
May 10 Prepare preliminary revenue estimates for 2024-2025 budget.
May 17 Department Heads submit 2024-2025 budget requests to Finance Director.
May 24 2nd Estimate of 2024 taxable values received from TAD.
June 4 Budget Workshop - Budget/Tax Rate Overview
Pre-Budget Conferences held between City Manager, Asst. City Manager, Finance Director,
June 12 & 13
Finance Manager and Department Heads to discuss budget requests and five year plans
June 21 3rd Estimate of 2024 taxable values from TAD.
July 25 Receive 2024 certified appraisal roll from TAD and calculate Effective and Rollback Tax Rates
July 29 Final review and decisions on proposed budget. Prepare budget message.
August 5 Publish/Post notice of 2024-2025 Budget Public Hearing.
August 13 SPECIAL Council Meeting - Public Hearing on Proposed Budget
August 14 Publish/Post notice of 2024-2025 Revised Budget Public Hearing and Tax Rate Increase.
Council Meeting - Public Hearing on 2023-2024 Proposed Budget continuation; and adoption of

2023-2024 Revised Budget and Tax Rate
October 1 Fiscal year 2024-2025 begins.
