MANSFIELD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
Budget Summary
The Mansfield Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) is funded by a ½ cent sales tax approved by
the citizens. The tax became effective on July 1, 1997. The Economic Development fund is used to attract
desirable industries and commercial development to the City of Mansfield while retaining and assisting in
the expansion of existing businesses.
The MEDC budget increased 137.15% overall. Due to the large number of developments in design or
construction during FY 2024-2025 and the projected increases in project funding commitments, MEDC
board members and City Council agreed to take approximately $9M out of fund balance to supplement the
MEDC FY 2024-2025 budget. A list of these projects can be found on the pages that follow.
