 DIVISION DESCRIPTION:
 The Municipal Court Activity is responsible for the operation of the City's Municipal Court and the collection of fines due to the City. The Municipal Court has
 jurisdiction within the territorial limits of Benbrook over all Class C misdemeanors. The Court Clerk, under the supervision of the City Secretary, is responsible
 for maintaining court dockets; issuing warrants, subpoenas, and notices; perfecting appeal bonds; attending court sessions; and performing duties as prescribed
 by state law. The Municipal Court Activity includes the salary and operating expenses for the Municipal Court Judge, Associate Judge, and Magistrate; these are

 part-time positions. The Prosecuting Attorney services are contracted through the City Attorney. In 2005, the Benbrook Municipal Court became a court of
 record.


 DIVISION GOALS:
 • To maintain a fair and impartial Municipal Court.
 • To compile and maintain complete and accurate court records.

 • To compile court dockets for court sessions on time and without error.
 • To maintain complete and accurate records of final disposition of all court transactions.
 • To collect 100% of all fines due the City.


 DIVISION OBJECTIVES:

 • To monitor expenditures and remain within + or - 5% of the Activity's budget allocation.
 • To maintain court dockets with 100% accuracy.
 • To issue warrants with 100% accuracy.
 • To perfect appeal bonds.

 • To maintain a 90% collection ratio of all fines due the City.
