Facilities Projects
Staff is implementing a Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) approach for City owned facilities. The FCA is planned as a major
assessment management tool to develop a comprehensive evaluation of the condition of each facility, as a means to work
proactively on scheduled maintenance and repair, as well as assess short-term and long-term investment strategies.

Conducting an FCA involves the collection of data on the condition of each building or facility and categorizing the information
into building system components, such as roo ng or HVAC. Once the information is gathered for all locations, the evaluation
for facility needs can be conducted on a systematic approach where objective determinations can be made based on clear
priorities and benchmarks. Conducting an FCA also sets up a system for proactive preventative maintenance which can then
alleviate the need for expensive capital replacement.
