THIS TAX RATE WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR
MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR' S
TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3. 50
PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE
AND OPERATIONS ON A $100, 000 HOME BY
APPROXIMATELY -$ 5.25.
III.
Taxes levied under the Ordinance shall be due October 1, 2021, and if not paid on
or before January 31, 2022, shall immediately become delinquent.
IV.
All ad valorem taxes due the City of Watauga, Texas, and not paid on or before
February 1 following the year for which they were levied shall bear penalty and interest as
prescribed in the Texas Tax Code, as may be amended.
V.
All taxes shall become a lien upon the property against which assessed, and the City
assessor and collector of the City of Watauga, Texas, shall by virtue of the tax rolls, fix
and establish a lien by levying upon such property, whether real or personal, for the
payment of said taxes, penalty and interest, and the interest and penalty collected from such
delinquent taxes shall be apportioned to the General Fund of the City of Watauga, Texas.
All delinquent taxes shall bear interest from the date of delinquency at the rate as prescribed
by state law.
VI.
The City assessor and collector of the City of Watauga, Texas is hereby directed to
assess for the 2021 Tax Year the rates and amounts herein levied and, when such taxes are
collected, to distribute the collections in accordance with this Ordinance.
VII.
This Ordinance shall be and is hereby cumulative of all other Ordinances of the
City of Watauga, Texas, and this Ordinance shall not operate to repeal or affect any such
other Ordinances except insofar as the provisions thereof might be inconsistent or in
conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance, in which event, such conflicting provisions,
if any, in such other Ordinance or Ordinances are hereby repealed.
